Scott is a broadcaster, singer, actor, and writer. Before joining the New Classical 96.3 FM as morning News Anchor, his radio career took him from private radio to the CBC, where he was a News Anchor and creator of Scott Walker’s Musical Almanac, a weekly feature on the history of popular music.
He has performed in theatres from Charlottetown to Victoria in more than 30 productions, includingURINETOWN, COMPANY, THE KING AND I, THE MUSIC MAN, GUYS AND DOLLS, OF MICE AND MEN, AS YOU LIKE IT and MY FAIR LADY, for which the Winnipeg Free Press proclaimed, “Oh, what a voice!”. He was a co-producer of Reprise Concerts, a Toronto company that introduced the concept of Musicals in Concert to Canada. He has also appeared on film and television in such productions as FRESHMAN FATHER and FOREVER KNIGHT.
Scott created and performs a one-man show, TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS, on the life of songwriter Johnny Mercer. One of Mercer’s most familiar songs appears on Scott’s self-titled Big Band CD, which includes other classics from the Great American Songbook. He is also the narrator of the hit YouTube video, SPIDERS ON DRUGS.
